Is anyone having difficulties with the Golden Wings Supplemental Medical Plan? If so, please comment on this post and let the other F/E's know your issues.
Issues include but are not limited to:
-Lack of responsiveness from the "administrator"
-Requested insurance ID cards not arriving although they are "in the mail"
-Repeated denial of benefits.

Dave...Good questions. We are getting close to using the plan. Please, let us know if you resolve any of these issues.

We are having the same problems with getting insurance IDs for my parents. They tell us the gal who does this is in the hospital and will send them when she gets back. We know at least two others who finally gave up trying to get anything from them. It's starting to look like a scam to us.
ReplyDeleteTroubles? Yes! I've been paying into this plan since 1995. Payments have all been on time and policy in good standing. I don't have the exact date, but approximately 2 to 3 years ago I received a notice that Golden Wings would grant a "premium holiday". I thought this would be for one year so after that time passed I've written them and called them. I keep being told my coverage is in effect and they are working on it. I've also called on two different occasions and basically the same thing. I really don't trust this situation and have no idea who to contact or how to determine what the issue is. Not sure if it's connect to Obama care or AA's reorganization, but feel someone should give us truthful information.

I have experienced the same exact problem. I also retired in 1995. I can't add anything new here as it would be repetitive. Do hope someone can crack this nut as it doesn't seem anyone will take responsibility. Originally I thought this was a direct transaction with the insurance company, however, now I am wondering about AA's connection to this issue.
